Bradford sets record for highest completion percentage in a season

Bruce Kluckhohn / USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford was pulled from Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears in the fourth quarter, ensuring he will break the NFL record for completion percentage in a season.

After going 25-of-33 passing against the Bears, Bradford completed 71.6 percent of his passes this season and eclipsed the mark of 71.2 percent set by Drew Brees in 2011.

Notably, Bradford passed for 5,476 yards that season. Brees didn't hit 4,000.

The Vikings traded a first-round pick for Bradford before the season in hopes he would lead them to the playoffs in place of Teddy Bridgewater, who suffered a devastating knee injury in training camp.

The Vikings won't make the playoffs, and it remains to be seen whether Bradford or Bridgewater will start for the team next season.
