Texans' Savage cleared of concussion, then re-evaluated and ruled out

Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage has a concussion, after all.

Savage was injured on a fourth-and-1 quarterback sneak in the first half of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans and taken to the locker room for concussion evaluation. He was replaced in the game by Brock Osweiler.

Savage was cleared by doctors and returned to the game for one play late in the first half, a kneel-down with 23 seconds remaining on the clock.

Though it appeared Savage would play the second half, that's not what transpired. Instead, it was Osweiler back under center when the Texans returned to the field.

It turns out Savage was re-evaluated by doctors at halftime and it was determined that he did, indeed, suffer a concussion.

The Texans say Savage will not return to Sunday's game.
