With 155 to go, Rams want Gurley to get 1,000-yard season

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley enters the final week of the regular season with a 1,000-yard campaign still within reach. It will require his best performance of the year, however.

Gurley has 845 rushing yards through 15 games this season. The defending Offensive Rookie of the Year is averaging just 56 rush yards per game and will need 155 yards on the ground against the Arizona Cardinals to reach the milestone.

"I've been waiting for that one game every game," Gurley said to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times on Friday. "If we could make something happen this weekend, it would definitely be a good feeling."

The problem is Gurley hasn't had a 100-yard rushing game all season. The best he's done is 85 yards in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he required 27 carries to reach the mark.

"I found myself a couple of times, the last couple of games getting a little frustrated," Gurley admitted. "But if you're not getting frustrated then I don't think you have the passion for the game."

The offensive line has made it a point they'd like their back to hit the 1,000-yard mark.

"We definitely want to try and shoot as best we can for that," guard Rodger Saffold said. "We want to put ourselves in good position to give him more touches."
