Ezekiel Elliott unconcerned about wearing down ahead of playoffs

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who's operated as the team's workhorse during his rookie year, doesn't anticipate wearing down with the playoffs rapidly approaching.

Elliott leads the NFL in carries (322) and rushing yards (1,631), propelling him near the top of the MVP race, and the Cowboys secured home-field advantage through the playoffs in large part due to his Pro Bowl campaign.

The 21-year-old standout isn't concerned about hitting a rookie wall as the Cowboys gear up for the postseason.

"I feel good actually,” Elliott told ESPN's Jean-Jacques Taylor. "In college, I was playing 80 plays a week. So I think you look at it, I only play about 40, 50 plays a week max.

"I'm not really playing that many plays in the pros, but I think my body is adjusting well. I think that I'm doing fine, I’m doing great."

Sitting 178 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson's all-time rookie rushing record, Elliott is unlikely to play much during Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Darren McFadden is expected to see the majority of the carries during the season finale, which suits Elliot just fine.

"I’ve just learned through experience, you don’t focus on (records)," he said. "You focus on going out there and winning ballgames, and good things happen."
