The self-proclaimed Superman has been decidedly less super this season, and the same can be said of his performance in the first half of Saturday's game between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons held Cam Newton to 6-of-18 for 58 passing yards and two interceptions, and he owned a 3.7 passer rating by halftime.

It's a poor start for a team clinging to minuscule playoff hopes. At 6-8, the Panthers need to win out to reach .500.

The Falcons can clinch the division title with a win and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss.
