Report: Texans' Miller out vs. Bengals, expected back in Week 17

Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller will be held out of Saturday's matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals due to an ankle injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Miller was thought to be a game-time decision after missing the entire week of practice, but the lack of playoff implications in the contest made it a strong possibility he'd be given additional time to rest.

Regardless of whether Houston wins, the Tennessee Titans taking down the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday would set up a Week 17 showdown for the division title.

Miller is expected to be ready for that game, Schefter reports.

The 25-year-old quickly emerged as a top offensive playmaker after joining the Texans in free agency in the offseason, recording 1,073 rushing yards, 188 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns across 14 starts.

Alfred Blue will serve as the lead back in his absence.
