Petty leaves game after getting decked by Suh, Wake

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty left Saturday night's game against the Miami Dolphins after taking a hard hit from Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake - both of whom were unblocked on the play.

The Jets ruled his return questionable, telling NFL Network "he had the wind knocked out of him," but he remained out. X-rays on his chest came back negative, and he'll undergo more tests Sunday.

Petty was replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

With the game effectively over for the Jets, who trailed 34-10 when Petty left, the decision to keep the second-year quarterback out may have been for precautionary reasons.
