Titans' Murray doesn't want to win Comeback Player of the Year

Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray is in the midst of a resurgent season but is trying to take himself out of the running for one award.

Murray sputtered in his lone season with the Philadelphia Eagles last year, rushing for 702 yards, one year removed from winning the NFL's rushing title as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. The 28-year-old is powering the Titans' playoff bid, but wants no part of the Comeback Player of the Year Award.

"Hopefully, not to me; hopefully it's for somebody else," Murray said to ESPN's Paul Kuharsky. "I don't know, I don't know. We'll see, I guess."

Most recipients win the award after overcoming injury and it's rare for a player to be rewarded for improved play alone.

Murray ranks second in the NFL with 1,135 rushing yards, trailing only Dallas Cowboys rookie standout Ezekiel Elliott.
