Edelman: Brady yells at me because he loves me

New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman drew the wrath of quarterback Tom Brady on Monday night when the two could not connect on a deep pass in the first quarter.

The missed connection had Brady stark raving mad.

Edelman accepted his part in the incompletion and explained that it's all love between he and Brady.

"There was a miscommunication. I have to do better and go on from there. That's just ebbs and flows of competitiveness in a crucial game. I know how he is. I'd be a little more scared if he wasn't yelling at me, because if he yells at you, he says he loves you," Edelman said on a radio broadcast on WEEI, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

"He must really love me, I guess."

Whatever makes yourself feel better, Julian.

"I let him take his steam off," he continued. "I'll be that punching bag, as long as it makes him feel good. It's a relationship. It's give and take."
