New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro will drop his suspension appeal and begin serving the four-game ban he received for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, head coach Sean Payton confirmed.

Vaccaro played four games while awaiting word on the punishment he was thought to be facing after testing positive for Adderall.

With the Saints now all but out of the playoff picture with four games remaining, accepting the suspension at least ensures he won't miss time next fall.

Vaccaro, a first-round pick in 2013, recorded 68 tackles, two interceptions, and one sack while starting in all 11 of his appearances this season.
