Larry Fitzgerald not planning on moving further up all-time catch list

Last Sunday against the Washington Redskins, Larry Fitzgerald went from fifth to third on the all-time receptions list, and that's where he's going to stay.

The Arizona Cardinals receiver has amassed 1,106 catches in his Hall of Fame career over 13 seasons, all spent with the same team. Sitting 219 receptions behind second all-time leader Tony Gonzalez, the 33-year-old Fitzgerald doesn't expect to move up the list.

"I won't catch any of those guys," Fitzgerald said, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

Theoretically, the 33-year-old is on pace to catch up to Gonzalez by sometime in the 2018 season, but Fitzgerald says he won't be around to complete the feat.

"I don't plan on playing that long to catch those guys," Fitzgerald said.

Fitzgerald may just be being modest, as he is currently tied for the league lead in receptions, or he could be hinting at retirement, though he has not brought up the subject and hasn't shown signs of slowing down.

While he doesn't believe a move up the catch list is in the cards, Fitzgerald is less than 1,000 receiving yards from cracking the top four in that category and eight scores from matching Gonzalez's sixth spot on the all-time receiving touchdowns list.
