Browns' Robert Griffin: Will start Sunday

The Browns announced Thursday that Griffin (shoulder) will start Sunday's game against the Bengals, Michael Silver of the NFL Network reports.

Analysis:

There had been speculation since Griffin was cleared for contact last week that he would be under center in Week 14, and the team confirmed Thursday that he will do just that. Sunday's game will be Griffin's first action since Week 1, so he may have a little rust to shake off. However, the Browns want to give him another shot to show what he can do so they can try to finally get in the win column, and also evaluate his prospects for 2017. Griffin will be challenged in his first game back, as he will take on a Bengals squad that allowed just three total passing touchdowns over its last three games.
