Bengals line coach doesn't care how Ogbuehi felt about benching

Mark Zerof / USA TODAY Sports

Don't expect Cincinnati Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander to let anyone down easy. That's not his job.

After replacing former first-round pick offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi with veteran Eric Winston in the starting lineup for Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Alexander didn't pull any punches when discussing the move on Wednesday.

"Oh, I don't care," Alexander told Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer when asked how Ogbuehi took the news. "I didn’t really give him a box of Kleenex when I told him."

Alexander doesn't plan on gluing Ogbuehi to the bench, but he hasn't been pleased with his development rate thus far. Either way, the second-year pro is learning the hard way that nothing is guaranteed in the NFL.
