New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul isn't expected to play in Sunday's pivotal contest against the Dallas Cowboys, if his teammates are to be believed.

Pierre-Paul visited with a specialist Tuesday and preliminary MRI results revealed he didn't suffer a sports hernia, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Despite the results, Giants linebacker Jonathan Casillas appeared to indicate that his star teammate would be sitting out.

"No one is JPP. No one is Jason Pierre-Paul. No one can really do the things he can do for us," Casillas said to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. "There are going to need to be different things we might have to do. I don’t know what that is quite yet, but his presence will be missed out there."

Defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa also appeared to confirm that Pierre-Paul would miss the game.

"I don’t know exactly what the issue is but obviously he’s not going to be in the game this week," Odighizuwa said to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
