Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Quiet day in Week 13 victory

Evans secured three of six targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 28-21 win over the Chargers. He also caught a key two-point conversion after the Bucs' final touchdown.

Analysis:

Evans' stat line may have been the most surprising thing to come out of the Bucs' pivotal road victory, particularly considering that Jameis Winston lost two more pass catchers during the contest. Both Cecil Shorts (knee) and Adam Humphries (concussion) were forced from the contest, which ostensibly would have upped Evans' already robust target share. However, the Chargers were on the same wavelength and forced Winston to frequently look elsewhere, such as in the direction of tight end Cameron Brate and fifth-string receiver Freddie Martino, who totaled 10 catches on 13 targets between them. With Shorts almost assured of missing the Week 14 tilt against the Saints at a minimum -- and Humphries' status uncertain -- Evans' already considerable fantasy stock will be even higher in a home matchup against the highly beatable Saints secondary.
