Panthers' Cam Newton: Does not start due to coach's decision

The Panthers announced that Newton did not start Sunday's game against the Seahawks due to a coach's decision, Omar Ruiz of NFL Network reports.

Analysis:

Newton eventually entered Sunday's game for the second series, but he was not on the field for the first series, one which began and ended with an interception by Newton's backup, Derek Anderson, that was Mike Tolbert's fault. While Newton is seemingly healthy, the decision not to start him may have been made because he is in some type of hot water with his coaching staff.
