Report: Rams sign Fisher, Snead to contract extensions

If Los Angeles Rams fans were hoping for a coaching change after the club's 4-7 start, well, perhaps they should have known better.

Jeff Fisher recently signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the helm through the 2018 campaign, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Reportedly first agreed upon during this past preseason, the new deal silences any talk of Fisher being put on the hot seat amid yet another season in which his team appears set to finish below the .500 mark.

General manager Les Snead, who came aboard with Fisher back in 2012, also received a contract extension earlier this season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The veteran head coach undoubtedly has additional value in that this isn't his first time leading a franchise through relocation, and his contract now fittingly carries through until the season Los Angeles is scheduled to move into its new stadium.

Results will always be the main consideration, though, and Fisher somehow remains one of the league's most untouchable coaches despite a less than impressive 31-43-1 mark across four-plus seasons with the Rams organization.

The 58-year-old's last winning season came with the Tennessee Titans back in 2008. With a 173-163-1 record across 22 seasons as a head coach, he's now just three losses away from passing Dan Reeves for most in NFL history.
