If the Philadelphia Eagles get their way, Carson Wentz could reportedly have a brand new toy - and a familiar face around town - to play with in 2017.

The Eagles are expected to strongly pursue Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson this offseason, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Jackson - who will be an unrestricted free agent - joined the Redskins in 2014 after spending the first six years of his career in Philadelphia.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson and Jackson are "big admirers" of each others, sources told Schefter.

Developing Wentz is the team's biggest priority, so it makes sense to pursue a veteran wideout with dynamic speed. While the rookie quarterback has impressed in flashes, it's been hard to properly gauge his abilities due to maybe the worst wide receiver corps in the league.

Meanwhile, it will be tough for Washington to re-sign Jackson. Jamison Crowder has emerged in the passing game and first-rounder Josh Doctson should be fully healthy next season, while quarterback Kirk Cousins is set for a big payday.
