Big Ben hopes all three 2004 1st-round QBs can make HOF

It's rare that multiple quarterbacks from the same first-round work out, but the opening selections of the 2004 draft class produced three top-notch pass throwers - maybe even Hall of Famers.

That's what Ben Roethlisberger is hoping for as the eleventh overall pick from that class. Himself, first-overall pick Eli Manning, and fourth-overall Philip Rivers have produced elite-level resumes that the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback would like to see enshrined in Canton one day.

"I hope I am," said Roethlisberger when asked whether all three will be future inductees, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "I assume (Manning is) going to make it with everything he's accomplished."

Roethlisberger and Manning - who will face off against each other Sunday - both have a pair of Super Bowl rings to help make their case, while Rivers will have to rely on his astounding regular-season stats to get himself enshrined.

"Philip has put up some tremendous numbers in this game," said Roethlisberger. "We've all been fortunate to play for a long time and been able to do a lot of great things. That would be an awesome honor, but hopefully that's a long way off."

There was a fourth quarterback drafted in that round as well: Buffalo Bills' 22nd-overall pick J.P. Losman. But with a 33-34 touchdown to interception ratio through his eight-year career, he's not making the Canton cut.
