Titans release veteran cornerback Perrish Cox going into bye

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have released starting cornerback Perrish Cox and will replace him on the roster by promoting cornerback Kalan Reed from the practice squad.

The Titans announced the move Monday.

Cox led the Titans with three interceptions and signed a three-year deal with Tennessee in March 2015. The six-year veteran had started 22 of 24 games with Tennessee but has struggled in pass coverage this season. The Titans currently rank 25th in the NFL against the pass.

The Titans (6-6) made the move going into their bye after rotating both rookie LeShaun Sims and Valentino Blake in their 27-21 win over Chicago on Sunday. Reed was Tennessee's seventh-round pick out of Southern Mississippi where he intercepted eight passes.
