Jets' Ryan Fitzpatrick: Starting job uncertain

Jets coach Todd Bowles was noncommittal on whether Fitzpatrick would retain New York's starting quarterback job following Sunday's loss to Patriots, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.

Analysis:

Fitzpatrick generally fared well in Sunday's game, tossing a pair of touchdowns and completing 22 of 32 passes while nearly knocking off the division-leading Patriots. Although his fumble on New York's final offensive drive ended his team's hopes of victory, Fitzpatrick seemingly played well enough to earn another start if Bowles intends to continue with the quarterback that gives the Jets the best chance of winning. However, with the long-term evaluation of Bryce Petty to also consider, Bowles' decision on his starter for next Monday's game against the Colts remains a noteworthy situation.
