49ers' Colin Kaepernick: Posts best all-around performance of season in Week 12 loss

Kaepernick completed 29 of 46 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Dolphins. He also gained 113 yards on 10 rushes.

Analysis:

This was 2012-quality Kap on Sunday, and he came just a couple of yards short of the goal line as time expired, narrowly missing the opportunity to send the game into overtime. Kaepernick turned it on in the fourth quarter in particular after the Niners fell behind 31-14 midway through the period, driving the team from its own 38 to the Dolphins' six-yard line in the final 1:44 of the game and converting a fourth-down play in the process. The sixth-year pro's rushing total was his best of the season. It marked the first time he'd eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground since ripping through the Chargers for 151 yards in Week 16 of the 2014 campaign. He'll look to preserve the positive momentum he generated in defeat when he and the 49ers try to avert a franchise-record 11th consecutive loss in a Week 13 road tilt against the Bears.
