The Los Angeles Rams knew what they were doing with rookie quarterback Jared Goff all along.

The 2016 first overall pick started his second consecutive game Sunday, and impressed by throwing for three touchdown passes in the opening half against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints went on to win the game 49-21, but Goff did his best to keep the Rams in it as long as he could.

Goff threw his first career touchdown pass in his first drive of the game, a beautiful lob Tavon Austin caught over his shoulder with a defender draped over him. He then hit Kenny Britt on a quick slant in the red zone for his second score to give the Rams a temporary 14-7 lead. Then, with the Saints pulling away with a 28-14 lead, Goff kept L.A. in it with a dead-arrow strike right in the middle of Lance Kendricks' No. 88 jersey for his third passing score.

Goff had to sit and watch the first 10 games of his NFL career. He's proven to be worth the wait, however, if only for his performance after 30 minutes in Week 12.
