Fitzgerald rates Julio Jones among top receivers in NFL

Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports

Within the fraternity of wide receivers, Larry Fitzgerald believes Julio Jones is one of the best.

Asked by ESPN's Josh Weinfuss where Jones ranks among the NFL's top receivers, Fitzgerald replied: "Right at the top."

"I think what he does really well is you can tell he's a student of the game," he added, ahead of Sunday's Arizona Cardinals-Atlanta Falcons matchup. "He studies it. Because of what they're asking him to do in terms of all the personnel groupings and all the motions and the spots that he's in, you got to be able to digest a lot of football and understand why coach is putting you in those spots."

Jones leads the NFL with 1,105 receiving yards on 61 receptions, and is making a strong case to be considered the NFL's preeminent receiver. Fitzgerald, meanwhile, continues to feature as an ageless wonder with 74 receptions for 749 yards and five touchdowns.

Many will view the Cardinals-Falcons matchup as an ordinary game between two high-powered offenses, but it also serves as a showcase of two receivers who appear Canton-bound.
