Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy have spent a good portion of the week defending both the play and the record of the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers are in foreign territory, sitting under .500 at 4-5 and on the outside of the playoff picture.

But as talk of head coach McCarthy's job security grows, Rodgers' tolerance of such debates has decreased.

"I think it's ridiculous. I think people don't understand how difficult it is to win in this league and win consistently," Rodgers said Wednesday, according to Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "The success that we've had here, it's tough to do. We've set the standard pretty high. But I wouldn't listen to some of those people out there. I mean they're not in this locker room, they're not in the meeting rooms, they're not in the practice environments. They don't know what's going on, they don't know the type of work ethic that we have here and that Mike has here."

Rodgers took particular issue with an article written by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk in which he states that the relationship between the Packers quarterback and head coach is deteriorating.

"Especially guys like Mike Florio. Don't waste your time reading crap like that," Rodgers said.
