Cowboys' Tony Romo: Accepts backup role for remainder of season
In a statement to the press Tuesday, Romo (back) acknowledged that he would be the Cowboys' backup QB for the remainder of the season, stating that Dak Prescott had "earned the right to be our quarterback", DallasCowboys.com reports.
Analysis:
In a classy move by a classy guy, Romo removed any hint of a QB controversy in Dallas, although it was clear at this point that Prescott would be under center for the Cowboys going forward, barring an injury. Romo also made it clear that he didn't feel his career was over, however, so expect him to be in another uniform in 2017.
