And here. We. Go.

Scoff at Goff

The Rams are sitting at 4-5-0 through 10 weeks, good for third place in the NFC West. Their 139 points are the fewest in the league, though only eight teams have allowed fewer than their 173 points against. Incumbent starter Case Keenum was averaging just 241 passing yards per game, with nine TDs and 11 interceptions; his 61.0 completion percentage ranks 24th.

Goff will be "supported" by the league's 29th-ranked rushing attack. Led by RB Todd Gurley, the Rams are gaining just 82.6 rushing yards per game, and only four teams have scored fewer rushing TDs on the season. Gurley has caught 26 of 32 targets this season, totaling 202 yards. His usage in the passing game could rise with Goff frequently looking for checkdown options.

The Dolphins are tied for 14th in the league, allowing a reasonable 22.9 points per game. They held the San Diego Chargers to 24 points in a Week 10 road upset. The Week 11 game in Los Angeles has opened as a pick em with a projected point total of 40.5, tied for the lowest of the week.

The Dolphins have Football Outsiders' ninth-ranked DVOA against the pass. Their overall team DVOA ranks No. 1, when adjusted for strength of schedule.

Goff holds no fantasy value in a less than favorable matchup in which his team is projected to score just 20 points. Owners in two-quarterback leagues may be forced to start him with four teams on bye in Week 11, but he is merely a last resort and teams with running back or wide receiver depth could have suitable alternatives in a Super-FLEX spot.

Even at a minimum salary on most daily-fantasy sites, Goff is a non-option due to his low upside of no more than two touchdowns. He is likely to finish with little more than 200 passing yards, and he has next to nothing to offer as a bonus on the ground.

More harm than good to supporting cast

WR Kenny Britt ranks second on the team in total yardage behind Gurley, who has 515 yards on the ground and 202 through the air. Each of Gurley's three touchdowns have come on rushes.

Britt shares the team touchdown lead with Gurley and WR Brian Quick at three. He leads the team with 44 receptions, 64 targets, 693 receiving yards and 12 plays of 20-plus yards. He has had two games with 100 or more receiving yards, catching seven passes in each game.

With Keenum as his quarterback, Britt was on a 16-game pace for 78 receptions and 1,232 yards. His ranks 11th among all wide receivers in yardage through week 10, and his 87 standard fantasy points rank 20th among receivers, returning WR2 at an undrafted ADP.

His unlikely rise to WR2 status still had him being used as nothing more than a WR3 or FLEX option in most fantasy leagues. He hadn't produced at a level like this since the 2010 season, while a member of the Tennessee Titans, so he was already performing at his ceiling. With his connection to Keenum likely being one of the biggest keys, Goff can only hurt his value moving forward.

Dynasty league impact

Cash in now - primarily if you used a third- or fourth-round selection on Goff in the rookie draft and are currently in a spot for the playoffs. Trade Goff to an owner already looking at the future and fetch an older player who can help you this season. Older players are often overlooked in favor of younger talent, while a veteran could clinch your 2016 fantasy title.
