Rams' Fisher not rushing debut of 1st overall pick Goff

Case Keenum's job is safe for now after steering the Los Angeles Rams to a 9-6 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.

Keenum submitted a tepid performance, going 17-for-30 for 165 yards and no interceptions, but it was enough to preserve the win for his team.

Jared Goff, selected with the first overall pick in 2016, remains glued to the bench and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher doesn't intend to bench Keenum anytime soon.

"I don't believe it's the quarterback play," Fisher said about the Rams' offensive woes to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.

Fisher came away impressed with Keenum's play and it appears that Goff will be learning from the bench until further notice.

"It's always a possibility when his time comes. But I thought Case did a nice job," Fisher said of Goff.
