Bucs' Winston still considers himself a winner despite losing record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston still considers himself a winning player despite a 9-15 overall record since breaking into the NFL.

Winston addressed the difficulties the Bucs have faced since he took over in 2015, but says his attitude, which led him to a 26-1 overall record at Florida State, hasn't changed.

"Losing, I believe ... losing is too easy. And I hate easy stuff," Winston said, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN. "I hate easy. Going out there and losing is so easy. I want stuff to be hard - that's why I want to win championships, I want to win games."

On paper, Winston's time in Tampa has been a disappointment, but with so much promise being shown offensively (2,037 passing yards, 17 TDs, 9 INTs this season) there's little doubt wins will start coming in bunches.

"Confidence-wise, it's easy, because I'm not a loser," Winston said. "We're winners in this building. And I believe it's a choice. It's a mentality that we've gotta have and we're building. We're heading on the right path. We just gotta get over the hump, and I'm going to do what I need to do to help us get over there."

The Bucs are now 3-5 and not out of contention in the NFC South, but it seems they're at least another year away from actual success, no matter how much confidence Winston displays.
