Watch: Sherman levels Bills receiver away from play on final snap

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

A Monday night game already riddled with controversy added one more play to the discussion before the final whistle.

After the Seattle Seahawks came away with a fourth-down stop to close out a thrilling win over the Buffalo Bills, a separate camera angle later showed a massive hit Richard Sherman laid on a receiver in the secondary mid-play.

The play looks like an obvious illegal contact at first glance, but the fact that quarterback Tyrod Taylor had broken the pocket absolves defensive backs of any such infraction.

Sherman was quick to explain as much following the game.
