Minnesota Vikings athletic trainer Eric Sugarman provided status updates on Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson during Monday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Bridgewater suffered a devastating non-contact injury during practice on Aug. 30, tearing his ACL, dislocating his knee, and incurring other structural damage. The quarterback will miss the entire season, but Sugarman was optimistic about his recovery.

"He's eight weeks post-op. He's doing really well. He's regaining his range of motion and regaining strength. He's now walking without crutches. He has a brace that is a little less profile and opens to normal range of motion .... so he's progressing well," Sugarman told ESPN's Lisa Salters.

Peterson tore his meniscus and sprained his MCL in a Sept. 18 game against the Green Bay Packers. Some project he'll return by the end of the year, but Sugarman is carefully monitoring him, advising him not to run yet.

"It is still going to be a while before it's safe for him to run," Sugarman said. "Sometimes it's our job to protect them from themselves so he doesn't do too much too soon."
