Packers' Jared Cook: Works on side Thursday

Cook (ankle) didn't practice Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports, marking his second DNP in a row. However, Cook was seen running half-speed routes with the training staff and jumping rope, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Analysis:

Making his first appearance near the practice field since Week 3, Cook could be closing in on the latter stages of his recovery from a high ankle sprain. The tight end himself told Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com on Wednesday that he's unlikely to play Sunday in Atlanta, but fitting in some drills at practice would be another positive step for the tight end. Expect Richard Rodgers to continue holding down the fort at TE in Cook's stead.
