Lions' Darius Slay: Misses practice Wednesday and Thursday

Slay (hamstring) has missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, leaving his status for Sunday's tilt with the Texans in serious question, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

Slay injured his hamstring in Sunday's win over Washington, leaving Just Nevin Lawson, Quan Diggs, Johnson Bademosi, and Adairius Barnes as the only healthy cornerbacks. "Darius obviously is one of the better corners in the league, so you're going to miss a guy like that. But we have some guys that we think will step up," defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Thursday. Bademosi is most likely to start should Slay be ruled out and will have the difficult responsibility of containing Texans wideouts DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.
