C.J. Anderson denies report that he's out for season

Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson denied a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport claiming he informed people close to him that his knee injury is season-ending.

In the since-deleted tweets, Anderson called the reports "false" and said he won't find out more about his injury status until later Thursday.

A report earlier Thursday said an MRI revealed Anderson didn't suffer a torn ACL, so the specifics and severity of his injury remain unclear. The initial reported diagnosis was a bone bruise, an injury which likely wouldn't require the fourth-year runner to miss more than a few weeks.

The Broncos are expected to update Anderson's status later Thursday. If he's lost for the year, rookie Devontae Booker - who has been eating into Anderson's snaps of late - would presumably move into the lead role.
