Fitzpatrick reiterates comments about front office's lack of belief in him

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick doubled down on inflammatory remarks made towards his team Wednesday.

Following Sunday's victory over the Baltimore Ravens, Fitzpatrick claimed that owner Woody Johnson, general manager Mike Maccagnan, and the entire coaching staff stopped believing in him.

Fitzpatrick believes that remains true, echoing his previous remarks following practice.

"There are probably a lot of people standing here with mics and cameras that don't believe in me, either," Fitzpatrick said Wednesday to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "That's fine. The basics of that is that I believe, and that’s the most important thing. Whether it’s in football or life, you’ve got to believe in yourself. That’s basically who I care about when I look in the mirror."

Fitzpatrick is infuriated with his lack of success to start the year, carrying his venom into games.

"My angry is probably a little different than other people's angry," Fitzpatrick said. "My angry is still pretty controlled. That has been a mentality I've had my whole career in terms of what I feel about myself versus the doubters out there."

With the Jets off to a 2-5 start, Fitzpatrick will need to continue to prove himself to management for the duration of the year.
