Browns' McCown hopeful he'll play vs. Jets

Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown is hopeful he will return to the field for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

McCown told reporters Wednesday he's "moving in that direction ... We'll see how it goes," according to Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official website.

McCown, who has been out since Week 2 with a collarbone injury, said he will increase his participation in drills at Wednesday's practice, adding that whether he plays will ultimately be head coach Hue Jackson's decision.

With Cody Kessler in the concussion protocol, the Browns could be down to Kevin Hogan at quarterback if McCown can't play. The team has already endured the most nightmarish season at quarterback of any NFL team in recent memory - and it could still get worse.
