Texans' Brock Osweiler: Not facing immediate threat for starting role

Head coach Bill O'Brien said Tuesday he hasn't considered benching Osweiler, ESPN.com's Sarah Barshop reports.

Analysis:

Osweiler bought himself some time when he directed an unlikely late comeback in Week 6 against the Colts. Of course, the phenomenal rally was quickly forgotten after he returned to the hideous form he's displayed most of the season in Monday's ugly 27-9 loss in Denver. The Texans will ultimately have little choice but to consider a change if Osweiler doesn't improve, though the team's other options -- Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden -- don't exactly inspire confidence. Osweiler likely still has a multi-week leash as the team prepares for a Week 8 contest against the Lions.
