Ravens activate Elam from IR

The Baltimore Ravens have made safety Matt Elam their sole player to be activated off injured reserve.

Under the NFL's new rules, teams can bring one player back from the IR during the season, meaning defensive tackle Carl Davis and cornerbacks Sheldon Price and Maurice Canady will remain out for the season.

Elam, the Ravens' 2013 first-round pick, was placed on the list with a knee injury before the year after missing the entire 2015 season with a torn bicep.

Though the Ravens don't feel the 25-year-old is ready to play yet, he attended practice Tuesday and has 21 days until he's eligible. He can play his first game since 2014 on Thursday, Nov. 10, against the Cleveland Browns.
