Vikings' Zimmer on 1st loss: 'We didn't block anybody. We were soft'

The Minnesota Vikings suffered their first loss of the season Sunday, and at least part of the blame can be put on the offensive line.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was harassed from start to finish, as the Philadelphia Eagles forced him into four fumbles - two lost - along with his first interception of the season.

"We didn't block anybody. We were soft," head coach Mike Zimmer said after the 21-10 loss. "(We got) overpowered. It was a little bit of man-on-man and we got whipped."

The Vikings signed tackle Jake Long on Oct. 11 and promised he would see some action Sunday. He was beaten repeatedly when he saw the field.

"They wanted to get me a handful of plays here and there, and when they put me in I got to play better," Long said of his own performance.

"I didn't play well. I'll watch the film but didn't play well enough," he added, before admitting he got beat on one of Bradford's fumbles.

Right guard Brandon Fusco added to the indictment of the offensive line.

"We came out flat. They were more physical than us," Fusco said. "You can't get into situations where you're passing all the time."
