Beckham shakes off criticism

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is unfazed by the rampant criticism directed toward him for his on-field outbursts.

Beckham's been fined four times this season for a variety of violations, and was blasted for throwing down a kicking net against the Washington Redskins in Week 3. After scoring the game-winning touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, Beckham proposed to the kicking net, prompting a new round of censure from his skeptics.

The 23-year-old remains undeterred, however.

"It doesn’t bother me. If I ran off the field and didn’t celebrate, it would be something that was written,” Beckham said to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. "Either way it goes, you have to live life. Enjoy it and have fun. No matter what I do, there’s going to be extra attention. Period.

"If I dyed my hair another color, there would be attention. If I wear some funky shoes, there's going to be extra attention. It is what it is at this point. You just have to go out and me personally, I have to do the best to not be a distraction to my team. I don't think they've ever felt that way in a sense. Everyone in the locker room knows what it is with me. They know how I feel about them and what I'm willing to do and give to them each and every day. Not just on Sunday."

Beckham's Giants are squaring off against the Los Angeles Rams in London on Sunday, and the wide receiver is thrilled to be playing in front of a different set of fans.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it," Beckham said. "This is exciting for this culture as well. We're taking steps and we’re moving. I’m sure there's going to be people that aren't going to have just the Rams and Giants jerseys on. I'm sure they’ll be supporting whatever team they support. Still, all in all, they'll be enjoying it. Like I said, I'm looking forward to it."
