Packers' Davante Adams: Explodes for career-best performance in Week 7 win

Adams (concussion) tallied a career-high 13 catches on 16 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 26-10 win over the Bears.

Analysis:

In a true out-of-nowhere performance, Adams led all receivers on the night in receptions, yardage and targets while impressively bouncing back from a concussion suffered just four days prior versus the Cowboys. He also added two more end-zone visits to his burgeoning touchdown resume, hooking up with Aaron Rodgers for a go-ahead five-yard score late in the third before connecting with him for a second time from two yards out to extend the Packers' lead to 20-10 early in the final period. While the numbers represented quite the boon for his fantasy owners, the reality is that Rodgers' pass distribution Thursday was anything but typical, considering No.1 receiver Jordy Nelson received only four targets to Adams' 16. While he can still be expected to offer solid production in a third receiver role going forward, it would likely be unwise to expect similar production to Thursday's. However, with five touchdowns on the season, Adams does seem to have a prominent role in Green Bay's red-zone strategy.
