Broncos' Marshall on facing Osweiler: 'It's competition. We want to kill him'

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Brock Osweiler makes his much-anticipated return to Denver this week after spurning the Broncos in free agency.

And make no mistake about it, the Broncos are relishing the matchup.

"There's no ill will toward Brock. I am happy he got paid. But it's competition. We want to kill him," linebacker Brandon Marshall said, according to Troy E. Renck of Denver7ABC.

Osweiler spurned approaches from Denver to re-sign and take over the lead quarterbacking duties after Peyton Manning's retirement. He instead signed with the Houston Texans for four years and $64 million.

The Texans and Broncos will meet on Monday night with similar 4-2 records.

"He's a gunslinger. He's also forcing a lot of throws," said Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. "It's going to be great. I am pretty sure that he wants to win, and we want to beat him bad and get a lot of interceptions."
