Bowles: Fitzpatrick still Jets' starter

Matt Kartozian / USA TODAY Sports

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles says Ryan Fitzpatrick will continue to start despite being pulled in the fourth quarter of Monday's 28-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

"Fitz is our starter. Anyone back there would've been under duress today," Bowles said during his postgame press conference.

Fitzpatrick was pulled after throwing his league-leading 11th interception and replaced by Geno Smith. Smith threw an interception in his limited stint and Bowles called him a "relief pitcher."

The Jets slumped to 1-5 after their fourth consecutive loss and will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
