Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a torn meniscus in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins and will undergo surgery on Monday, according to Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

There is no timetable for a return at this point.

Backup QB Landry Jones is expected to start against the New England Patriots next Sunday.

Much like the Adrian Peterson injury, Roethlisberger's timetable for return depends on the type of surgery he opts for. It seems likely he will choose the removal option which could mean he is ready to return after the Steelers' Week 8 bye.

Roethlisberger has been mostly stellar this season, throwing for 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns coming into Week 6, but has put in a few bad performances (this week and Week 3 vs. the Eagles).
