Brady 4th ever to complete 5,000 passes

Stew Milne / USA TODAY Sports

It didn't take long for Tom Brady to continue setting records.

On Sunday, in just his second game of the season, the New England Patriots quarterback completed his 5,000th career pass, making him the fourth quarterback to ever reach the plateau.

Brady entered the game with 4,981 career completions. He completed his 19th pass of the game in the third quarter of the Patriots game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 17-year pro trails just Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees on the list. He's 400+ completions behind Brees for third in NFL history. Favre has the all-time mark of 6,300.
