Report: Bryant considered long shot to play vs. Packers

Dez Bryant's return to action may have to wait until after the Dallas Cowboys' Week 7 bye.

The All-Pro wideout will warm up prior to Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, but he's considered a long shot to play, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

There was some relative optimism surrounding Bryant's status after he was able to take part in each of this week's three practices on a limited basis, and Rapoport adds that a post-bye return is a near certainty.

Dallas is evidently looking to avoid rushing him back from his knee injury, though, so Brice Butler will get a third consecutive start opposite Terrance Williams this week.

With Tony Romo also thought to have a chance to suit up following next week's bye, the Cowboys could conceivably enjoy the addition of their top two offensive players for a prime-time matchup with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.
