Luck: 'Blame me' for league-high sack total

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

While Ryan Tannehill is doing his best not to directly place blame for his sacks on his poor offensive line, Andrew Luck is funneling the fault right into his own lap.

What a guy.

The Indianapolis Colts have given up a league-high 20 sacks through five games this season without any of their linemen playing particularly well.

But, Luck says its on him to get rid of the ball quicker.

"I don’t think the sacks are necessarily indicative of how well our offensive line is playing," said Luck, according to the official team transcript. "You can probably blame me for holding the ball too long. It is that clock developing in the game. Maybe the clock is a little different for each play, but yeah you do develop a clock."

It's all fine and dandy for him to take the blame for now, but he and the Colts offensive line will have to figure it out soon if they wish to reach the playoff's with a healthy starting quarterback.

Luck is currently on pace to be sacked 64 times, if he doesn't get hurt before then.
