Cardinals' Carson Palmer: In final phases of concussion protocol

Head coach Bruce Arians said Friday that Palmer is in the final phases of the concussion protocol, the Cardinals' official site reports.

Analysis:

On a short week, Palmer was hard-pressed to complete every portion of the protocol and suit up Thursday at San Francisco. Although he didn't make the trip, he lifted weights Friday according to Arians, but the Cardinals head coach is still unsure whether Palmer will be able to play in Week 6 against the Jets. With a Monday night contest on tap, the Cardinals don't have to release an injury report until Thursday, but another absence from Palmer would place Drew Stanton under center.
