Cowboys' Jones: Bryant could play vs. 49ers if he can handle the pain

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones won't rule out the possibility of injured wideout Dez Bryant playing Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Jones said Friday in an interview on 105.3 The Fan that Bryant, who has a hairline fracture in his knee, may be able to play in Week 4 provided his pain tolerance is high enough.

"It's the ability to perform with pain," Jones said, according to Jon Machota of the Dallas News.

Jones added the Cowboys' medical staff believes Bryant is at no risk of additional injury if he plays.

Of course, playing through moderate or severe pain is easier said than done. The Cowboys' players might not appreciate the team's owner suggesting they should just suck it up and get on the field, as Pro Football Talk's Darin Gantt points out.
