Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien will take control of offensive play-calling duties from offensive coordinator George Godsey for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, a source told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

O'Brien called plays during his first year in charge of Houston in 2014.

It's unclear if the move will be permanent, or if O'Brien is simply looking to kick-start the unit.

The Texans' offense has underwhelmed to start the season, tied with Week 4 opponent Tennessee for the fewest points in the league (42), after failing to score in a shutout loss to New England last Thursday.

Brock Osweiler has particularly struggled, averaging just 6.4 yards per attempt and completing 59.6 percent of his passes, while throwing more interceptions than touchdowns.

With so much riding on his $72-million quarterback, it appears O'Brien will take it upon himself to improve the 27th-ranked passing attack.
